About the Teacher

Hi my name is Hayley and I teach grades 1 and 2 in a very remote area in Queensland, Australia.  We decided to move about 2164kms (3 flights) from the bustling city to a beautiful island paradise a year ago. We love our new home and have had an amazing experience in our first year.

My husband Lee and I have been married for 1 year. We have 1 four legged baby, Dexter, a chocolate Labrador who unfortunately could not make the move with us and lives with Lee’s mum.

I have always enjoyed teaching early years and love leaving work each day with another hilarious story to tell. The name Teacher Teacher was inspired by students in my class. I find it adorable whenever I ask the kids what games they play the answer is never just dolls, tigi, cars or dress ups but dolly dolly, tigi tigi, car cars and dress up dress up. Even cuter still some of the girls in the class say “Miss we played teacher teacher and I was you”.  I thought this was the perfect name for my new blog and store as it has a lot of meaning and relevance to me, my students and where I teach.

I love creating new resources to use in my classroom and to share with others and I am excited to now share those with you.  Spending endless amounts of time scrolling through other teaching blogs, pinterest and resources has become a habit of mine and has assisted me in my teaching journey. I think as teachers we have a lot to share and learn from each other and I am looking forward to joining the teaching blogging community!
